FF – Things you may not know about me

1.  I have a heightened sense of smell.  This is awesome when I’m trying to figure out what someone cooked with, but less awesome when I smell people’s burps.

2.  I used to have my belly button pierced. I got it pierced when I was 18 with my bff.  I loved it.  Then, at the young age of 23, Jon told me that I was too old to have my belly button pierced.  I ended up crying and taking it out.  Not that I’m holding a grudge or anything.

3.  I also used to have my eye brow pierced.  This was one of those moments of college rebellion.  After I finished celebrating with my college roommate, I decided to call my parents and tell them about it.  My mom told me that I shouldn’t come home if I have my face pierced.  It was only a couple of weeks before Thanksgiving and I really like Thanksgiving, so I ended up taking it out just a week after I pierced it.  The scar only lasted about a month, but my envy of other people’s eye brow piercings is still there.

4.  I don’t like mushrooms, olives, or peanut butter.  Oddly enough, I will eat meals cooked with condensed cream of mushroom soup, cook daily with olive oil, and absolutely adore peanuts.

5.  I have a fear of public bathrooms and the dark.  I deal with them the best I can in situations that I can’t avoid, but honestly, public bathrooms give me the hibby jibbies and I’m just plain terrified of the unknown in the dark.

  1. I’m 29 and still have my belly button pierced. I’m scared of the hole it’s going to leave if I take it out!

  2. I’m linking up with you tomorrow and I’m doing this same thing! So fun!

  3. No pb? OMG…I’d die! I feel so bad for you!

  4. Ha, I was still occasionally forcing the belling button ring through until…maybe 27? And…I’m your opposite. I can’t smell a thing.

  5. Pfft. Tell Jon where to go with the belly button ring! My navel is STILL pierced and I’m 34. I did it when I was 22, took it out when I went into the hospital to give birth at 31, then stuck it back in two years later when I discovered the hole never closed. Just another piece of jewelry if you ask me!

(I don’t like olives or peanut butter either. GAG. But I do like olive oil and Dark Chocolate Reese’s cups. Go figure!)

  6. I also hate public restrooms. I rarely use them and make my children go to the bathroom before we leave the house. Maybe I’m a bad mom but if they say they have to go, sometimes I say “no” because I know they went before we left the house.

  7. I, too, pierced my belly at 18, then took it out at 26… because Hubby told me I was too old for it. I miss it. The hole has yet to close. AND, I, too, pierced my eyebrow in college. Lasted a week. I miss that, too.

  8. Totally stealing this one for when I get home tonight.

  9. Go Kat! I didn’t peg you for the rebellious type ;)

I had a tongue ring in college! Still got that scar as well. I also have a fear of public bathrooms. YUCK!

Peanut butter is amazing and you are SO missing out!

    • I was very straight edge when it comes to things like drugs or sneaking out. But I was insanely rebellious in other ways ;) ps- those scars just don’t heal! I still have the hole in my belly.

  10. You’re mostly just afraid of the MP

  11. If I had enough guts to pierce somthing other than my ears I would have done my eyebrow too!!!

    Mushrooms YUCK!

I’m afraid of the dark too. If I’m walking through my house at night I get this feeling that someone is watching me or ready to jump out and grab me so I haul butt back to the bedroom. I don’t like that feeling one bit!

  12. I TOTALLY have a heightened sense of smell! My mom calls me her bloodhound…and yes, it has positives and negatives. ps-especially when I smelled the streets of NYC daily…ha!

I also have my belly button pierced. Have had it pierced since 1998…and I’m WAY too old to have it in there. It was the end of my freshman year of college and my senior theater friends were getting tatoos. I was supposed too but couldn’t decide on a tat I wanted for life. I almost got Kermit the Frog on my bootie…so glad I chose the ring. But I’ve never taken it out…it’s the original one. I keep saying when I get pregnant I will take it out. I might have to set another goal… : )

I do LOVE mushroms, olives and PB…can we still be blog friends ;)

    • For the record, I don’t think I’m too old to have the piercing. and I don’t k ow about our friendship. I just don’t know if I can get past the pb and mushrooms. Lol soo kidding ;)

  13. Great fun facts, KAT! Love it :) Hope you, hubs and Peanut have a wonderful weekend :)

  14. We have similar food quirks :) I don’t eat mushrooms but will use cream of mushroom in stuff, HATE olives but use olive oil all.the.time, and I love peanut butter but don’t like peanuts.

  15. This is why I get tattoos. No matter what anyone says, it stays! :)

  16. I used to have my bellybutton pierced too. When my parents found out they said I had to wear a bathing suit that covered it up on our family vacation. haha- I don’t have it anymore though.

Oh no, you don’t like peanut butter… I LOVE it!

  17. Kalamata olives are my fave! I could eat them out of the jar like pickles :)

And Friday five posts are one of my faves!
