Let’s just jump right into it this morning, shall we?
Saturday: with Jon in North Carolina for the weekend for a wedding, Peanut and I spent the weekend on our own. We started the day off right by taking a stroll with everyone. Peanut loves taking her puppy for a walk. For breakfast I made us some eggs, cheese and hot dogs (totally ok in the Russian culture) and then we were off to Massachusetts to hang out with my friends. Peanut had a blast and as did I! At the end of the evening we said our goodbyes and headed to auntie Penny’s house for a little sleepover.
Sunday: Peanut and I were woken up by our silly barking dog, so the three of us ended up cuddling in bed together before getting up way too early for a Sunday morning. The three of us took a stroll through the neighborhood and then went out for some breakfast. A day at the beach, followed by a snack and the long drive home. Le sigh – once again I was left to clean up the house all by my lonesome. Side note: although I would never usually eat these totally horrible for you but delicious spicy noodle bowls, I was beat and I just didn’t feel like making dinner for myself. So noodle bowl it was. I also tried out the new Shatter nail polish and I must say – eh. I wasn’t impressed. Love the color though.
Monday: While I cleaned up the house after our weekend messiness, Peanut played in her room. By herself. Seriously – who is this big kid?
Tuesday: I got nothing. Honestly, I don’t even remember what actually happened on Tuesday. It’s just a blank.
Wednesday: wonderful auntie Penny came to our house for the evening and babysat (that’s right – Peanut lets Penny watch her. alone. without me. without screaming. it’s like the best thing in the world). Jon and I went out to dinner at this amazing place (that Penny and Tim got us a gift card to for Christmas), Heirloom in New Haven. It was unique and amazing. As was the wine. Meanwhile, Penny texted us pictures of our little Peanut learning all about pricy accessories that we’ll never be able to un-teach her.
Thursday: cuddles with auntie Penny in the morning before she was off. Peanut tried to lock her in, but it didn’t work. Oh well, we’ll keep trying. After a late evening (like 1030pm…that’s late), I needed a little jump start – Starbucks to the rescue. That evening I hung out with my feet up on the porch while Peanut did some chores and then relaxed with me. This is the life.
Friday: After a work day and the usual bedtime routine, we put P in her car seat and headed off to New Hampshire for a little anniversary getaway. Timely, our Peter Rabbit Organics arrived! So exciting! I love grabbing little baby food puches for the road because they make for great healthy snacks or an alternative to those crappy fry sides when we’re eating out (for the kid…I eat the fries). Those of you who are following me on Instagram (@mrslltkings), I annoyed the heck out of you by giving you a play-by-play of the music from our road trip and then, brace yourselves, lyrics. Sorry about that. I’ll do my best not to repeat that. But for the record, magic 106.7 in Boston is amazing. As was this little tid-bit:
Tomorrow I’ll tell you a little more about our weekend away and some lessons that we’ve learned.
How was your week? Linking up with Amy.
