Pregnancy and clothes. Clothes and pregnancy.
I must say, with my first pregnancy, I wasn’t the biggest fan of maternity clothes. I hated almost everything labeled “maternity” and felt like nothing ever fit right. I cried in the changing room the day I had to purchase my first pair of maternity jeans. Don’t even get me started on dress pants.
After that experience I swore to myself that with my second pregnancy, I wouldn’t feel the same way. I would enjoy it. I would wear clothes that fit and find jeans that I loved.
And you know what? I’m having an absolutely great time dressing my bump this time around!
My goal with my second pregnancy was to find a few maternity pieces that I loved and that would be versatile enough to wear with various pairings and then I would stick to non-maternity clothing. Lucky for me, loose tunics, extra long shirts, and cozy sweaters are in fashion.
I also have some maternity absolute must haves: a good pair of jeans, leggings…lots of leggings, sweaters, long sleeve shirts in white and black, and tank tops for layering (I am not a fan of the outtie belly button look).
Today I wanted to share a few of my favorite outfits from this pregnancy, in case you’re searching for something to dress a bump of your own.

9 weeks: H&M sweater, H&M t-shirt and tank-top, TJ Maxxx leggings…all non-maternity.

13 weeks & 16 weeks: Express non-maternity top with H&M tank top underneath, Seraphine skinny jeans, Target pump, LOFT necklace.

14 weeks: LOFT dress (non-maternity, 1 size above my usual size), Express sweater (non-maternity), H&M necklace

I’m going to hire you to dress me when I’m pregnant with baby #2 lol. You look great!!
You are friggin adorable. And your outfits are all so AWESOME!!! I love how you mix and match and your perfect accessorizing!! You still look so tiny too!!
Aw Lisa
Thanks. Actually it looked a lot bigger when it was happening lol but now in comparison it does look like a tiny bump
LOVE IT! You re such a little fashionista! and can we talk about your legs. I want them. Mine are like elephant, soccer playing, man thighs. ha!
HAHAHAHA Lauren…mine are from years of long distance running.
LOL!!! Love that comparison because I feel your pain Lauren!! LOL
You are looking so cute! Definitely making good on your resolution this time around.
Ok, I have never been to H&M , but this post is making me REALLY want to go! You look so nice, keep posting them, I am going to need inspiration for the next pregnancy go-round. And what is the story behind the dairy free picture on instagram? We are working on cutting back our dairy intake around here, so I am curious!
I didn’t realize you guys wanted more kids! Oh yay
Peanut is dairy-free for 1-2 weeks after that stomach bug. After we reintroduced her to dairy (Pediasure) a couple of days after the bug cleared her system she ended up throwing up again and our Pediatrician said that her stomach isn’t ready to handle dairy and needs time to heal and return to normal (you know, all that good bacteria and enzymes and all that good stuff). So we’re staying away from dairy and giving her lots of proteins (which she doesn’t eat) and all that other good stuff until she’s better.
You are adorable! My style is quite lacking this time around for sure as I’m mostly at home. Question–where did you get the long sleeve shirts you love?
I’m so jealous you have an H&M to shop at. They’re aren’t any near me at all, and it’s just SO unfair!! Come on, Iowa, get with the program!
Ah Julie – I feel ya. No H&M would be tough!!!!
You are just so cute!!!! I seriously snorted on one of the comments Elephant playing soccer man thighs!! Because as a former weight lifter I can relate!!
you look SO cute! I wish I was fashionable, but I’m not. I’m slightly scared about Blissdom because I really don’t want to invest in nicer clothes, but I don’t have a ton of super nice stuff to wear during the conference. I’ve about just sucked up to the fact that I’ll probably be grossly underdressed and that people will just have to get over the fact that I am. ha!
aw all your outfits in your posts look so cute! I doubt you’ll be under-dressed! Have you considered reaching out to companies that do maternity wear?
I don’t even know how to start doing that. Is that what you’ve done to do the giveaways you’ve done?
Yes – I’ll send you an email with my contacts.
