One of my favorite things about the holidays is actually decorating.
For a step by step, check out Miss M’s guest post.
Today I am going to show you a little of our decorations.
I always start by pulling the boxes out of the attic and taking out (admiring) our decorations. Then I use the bins from the decorations to walk around and collect some of the items around the house to make room for the decorations. Next I usually start with the tree and the fireplace and then move around the living room, dining room, and kitchen.
I’ve actually never really decorated the rest of the house – do you decorate every room in your house?
And I just love buying a new decoration or two each year, allowing me to build up my supplies and for Jon to panic as our attic may end up looking like we belong on an episode of hoarders.

Last week, after most of us got our power back, our co-worker Jeff volunteered to come over and chop up the 2 huge trees that fell in our yard. He wanted the wood, we wanted our front lawn back.

I’m not so sure that he knew what he got himself into.

It took the boys 2 full days plus some help from the owner of our company (and his truck) and Jeff’s wife.

The first day was mostly clean up, followed by about 5 million trips to the dump.

Peanut and I ate some puffs and drank some water from the sippy cup. Then we sat on the front lawn, played with leafs, and watched.

Then on day two, they did some more chopping.

Isn’t my guy so manly?

I know you’re looking at his butt.

You’re welcome.
Then they spent some time checking out the damage and strategizing. Yeah…let’s go with that.

By the end of the day on Sunday, all the wood was gone from our yard and magically (or 3 trips with the truck) appeared in Jeff’s garage.
Needless to say, we’re incredibly grateful and super excited. Well, at least Peanut is.

How did you spend your labor day weekend?
Have you ever used a chain saw? They scare me.
