Vacation in pics, so far

vacation

We're on a little family vacation this week, enjoying the sun, the fam, and some much needed cousin love.  Doesn't leave much time for the electronics, but I did want to post a few photos of our days here so far.  Happy Wednesday! … [Read more...]

Week by iPhone 28/52. Also, I turn 30 this week.

Week by iPhone 28

A good week filled with a date with a great friend and a it-gets-better-every-day mood for Taylor.  We've had to adjust how we parent Peanut due to the new addition in our household and that's been paying off too. A few great workouts and a first walk in the last couple of weeks (it's been so so so  hot here) plus Peanut's first time getting her nails and toe nails did (by me...so it's not perfect, but she loved it).  Oh...and a surprise 30th birthday party at one of my favorite locations with some of my very favorite people thrown by my favorite (ok, only) husband. An amazing day filled with wine and the bestest of friends - I couldn't be happier.  Except then my bestie and her family decided to spend the night - that's like icing on top of my birthday cake (that Peanut ate before we even sat down for lunch).  4 kids under 4 in a very small house plus 4 adults = best. time. ever.  Seriously.  The two older kids (omg Peanut is one of those) entertained themselves.  The two younger ones behaved better than anyone could have predicted.  The 4 adults got to sit around, chit chat, drank some beers, and love on the 4 under 4.  You guys - this was one of the most amazing weekends. This week I'm officially 30.  That's like...a big deal right?  I don't feel a day over 20...except for all the back pain, the ligament pain, the tired knees and my inability to make it past 10:30pm...but other than that, totally 20. Week by iPhone 27/52

week by iphone 27

This week was probably one of the funnest weeks - company meeting and the girls meeting everyone at the BBQ, evenings at the beach, 4th of July celebrations and more beach days with friends, a trip to the aquarium, a new pool and fun in the sun, Coronas and Chardonnay, our first trip to see Jon's family in Western Mass with both kids.   Needless to say, we're spent. This week was also all about smiles and gurgles from Taylor.  Colic is slowly making its way out and we're seeing such a happy baby.  I'm so antsy for it to end so we can get to know this new baby - one that loves everyone around her, smiles non-stop, and babbles and coos.  I can already tell that she's just going to be a little ray of sunshine.  With a lot of attitude that lets us know who's boss, but ya know, that's just a given.  She is my child after all. How was your week? Join in the fun – the rules are pretty simple: take pictures throughout the week (it can be your phone, iphone, camera, whatever) and post them with a link back to this post. Week by iPhone 26, the highs and the lows

week by iphone 26

This week was a real mix of ups and downs. high:  I started Jillian Michael's workout DVD after being cleared by the doctor on Monday to return to my regular exercise.  I forgot how much I missed the burn and soreness that you feel after a good workout. low:  I am still skipping on some of the steps because it's been so long since those muscles were used. high:  Meeting the hubs out for lunch on Monday - not only was the food delicious and the company amazing, but the baby slept through lunch.  As in, I actually ate my food!  While sitting down.  On a plate. low:  The meltdown that ensued as soon as we got home and didn't stop until that evening almost makes me wonder if getting out for lunch was worth it. high:  Starting to get a real rhythm with the baby that seems to not only help my controlling personality feel like things are working out, but help the baby be less fussy throughout the day. low:  Still haven't figured out the afternoon/evening fussiness.  It seems like she just hates the hours between 4pm and 8:30pm, even if we put her down to sleep at 6:30. high:  Date night with the hubs on Saturday, followed by the baby sleeping until 4am that night.  Of course, I was still up and stalking the monitor at 2am, but I'll still chalk this one up as a high. high:  Going out Sunday night with a great friend - sans kids.  That's two nights in a row after 7 weeks of home confinement. low:  Peanut getting some kind of belly ache Sunday that resulted in a … [Read more...]

Week by iPhone 25, the one with sisterly love picture overload

week by iphone

Every week under my belt things get just a little bit easier.  Or rather, we learn and we adjust and that makes things a little bit easier. They say that colic heightens at 6 weeks, which is a good thing since Taylor is 6 weeks tomorrow morning - which means things can only get better from here!  This week we've started to see a little bit of a pay off of trying to get a routine with Taylor, although there are still a good deal of crying going on over here (some by her, some by me...you know how that goes). This week we also moved Taylor to her own room and out of the co-sleeper in ours.  A little earlier that we did with Peanut, but she seems to like it.  It means sounder sleep for everyone and is starting to pay off - Taylor had her first stretch of 7 hours (from 8pm until 3am) (we usually dream feed at 10, but she refused) this weekend.  Let's hope it keeps up! And with a fun-packed weekend to top off the week (a visit from my parants, a trip downtown and to the park, a visit from Gigi, a trip to Taste of Shoreline, and a trip to the beach), both kids are now fast asleep!  That means a celebratory glass of wine for mommy.
